PSR DEIB Training: The Mindset Makeover
04/07/2025
As part of our ongoing commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) and our wider Social Value programme, we provide quarterly DEIB webinar training for all PSR team members, focusing on key topics that empower our teams to better support individuals at every stage of the recruitment journey—from application to onboarding.
On 18 June, James Fellowes & Chance Bleu-Montgomery from Bridge of Hope Careers, an AMS Alliance Partner, led an inspiring Mindset Makeover workshop for the PSR team.
The session focused on Hiring for GRIT — resilience, drive, and untapped potential — not just “fit”. It’s about recognising people’s potential, breaking down barriers, and building stronger, more inclusive workplaces that reflect the communities we serve.

Navigating the ‘Unwritten Rules’ of the Workplace – A Playbook for Social Mobility
Success shouldn’t depend on your postcode.
The Sutton Trust’s new Opportunity Index reveals a tough truth: where you’re born still heavily shapes your life chances in the UK. For those from working-class backgrounds, navigating the workplace often means facing invisible barriers—from limited networks to unspoken rules of “fitting in.”
On Social Mobility Day AMS launched an Unwritten Rules of the Workplace Playbook – co-developed with our Social Mobility ERG and Skills Creation team. It tackles the hidden codes many aren’t taught: how to network, self-promote, seek feedback, and navigate corporate culture with confidence.
It’s more than a guide – it’s a mindset shift. And it supports AMS’s wider mission: to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, can thrive without having to change who they are.

PSR Strategic Workforce Planning Roundtable 2 - Key Takeaways
10/06/2025
On 15th May 2025, over 75 public sector leaders joined the second roundtable in the Future of Workforce & Talent series, hosted by PSR and Crown Commercial Services, focusing on strategic workforce planning.
A key insight was the overlooked role of age in workforce planning – challenging the misconception that over-50s are winding down, highlighting both a risk and opportunity for change.
The session also showcased the Recruit, Train, Deploy (RTD) model, piloted by ONS, which successfully attracted and retained diverse digital talent, including returners and career changers.
Inclusive, multigenerational teams aren’t just best practice — they’re essential to building a resilient, future-ready public sector.
