UKSV approached Brook Street in February 2023 with a view to filling 100 pre-assessors to start on the 29th of May and 24th of July in York and Glasgow
These workers all needed SC clearance and IT equipment meaning all workers needed to go through Brook Street vetting 9 weeks in advance of the start dates, so timelines were tight.
Thanks to you and your team for the work you have done with the recent UKSV recruitment. A story was recently published on our intranet about how UKSV has managed to reduce the backlog of vetting applications. Specific mention was made of how the use of Contingent Labour helped with this, and it is excellent that this has been recognised internally within the Cabinet Office.
Brook Street and AMS worked closely together to present a full delivery plan and committed to having all 50 workers for the initial intake completing their SC clearance forms within 15 days of kick off.
At the end of March, there was a change to the project, where the 100 pre-assessors was changed to 138 general A&C workers with start dates moved to fortnightly from the 17th of April. The first 4 starters landed on that date, with a pipeline at that point of 64 workers with SC clearance awaiting IT kit and start dates.
By the end of May, despite the intakes changing, Brook Street were on target to have 50 heads on-site. UKSV requested a few more increases to the total numbers during the course of the project and finished up with 123 workers on-site when Brook St were asked not to start any more workers due to capacity.
