Powering Up: Supporting the launch of Great British Energy

PSR support a valued customer in their creation of a brand new and exciting publicly owned energy company.

The Background

Great British Energy (GBE) was first announced by the Labour government on 5th July 2024, and formally established by the Great British Energy Act 2025 on 15th May 2025. Their mission is clear: to power Britain with clean, secure, home-grown energy and to become a global leader in clean energy.

GBE began with a start-up management team, to prepare for the establishment of the full organisation. PSR has been tasked as a partner to support GBE in their journey as they put in place the infrastructure of an important and exciting new department, that will include contingent labour, and permanent workforce.

The Opportunity

GBE initially approached us for support in sourcing a Workforce Planning Officer, a pivotal role that would be instrumental with the onward recruitment activity.

Since then, additional roles have been released including:

PA’s to Directors
HR Director and Head of GBE Strategy, amongst others.

The Solution

GBE engaged with the Relationship Management Team early in their journey and were very forthcoming about their needs and timescales working in in partnership and collaborating with ideas and information sharing.

We held several orientation sessions, and built a strong relationships, talking through the PSR total talent solution and sharing insight on what would be the best approach for each role.
